• Philberth-Stiftung: Besuch von Volker Ankenbrand und Justin Bergman bei den Missions-Benediktinerinnen in Manila anlässlich des 40-jährigen Stiftungsjubiläums

  On April 27, 2026, the Board of the Philberth Foundation held its year-end board meeting at the Guest House of the Priory. Mr. Volker Ankenbrand, Chair of the Board, together with Mr. Justin Bergman, CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst), shared an extensive discussion on the direction and future of the Foundation based on its fund in Australia. Mrs. Brigitte Ankenbrand, the wife of Mr. Volker Ankenbrand, also joined the visit and took the opportunity to admire the beauty of Mayon Volcano. We are delighted of their commitment as supporters of the Philberth Foundation.

  The meeting also became a time of reminiscing as the Board looked back on the inspiring story of the Foundation's beginnings. Fr. Karl Philberth, now in his mid-90s, was unfortunately unable to participate, even via Zoom, due to his health condition.

  Immediately after the meeting, the Board traveled to Legazpi for the annual gathering of the Philberth Scholars. The following day, our German-Australian guests enjoyed a tour of Legazpi and its scenic attractions.

  Despite the short notice given to scholars across the Bicol Region, around 55 scholars and alumni gathered on June 29 at the St. Agnes Grade School Building for the annual scholars' reunion. During lunch, several alumni shared heartfelt testimonies of how the Philberth Foundation had transformed their lives by making their education possible. The gathering also marked the election of the officers of the Philberth Foundation Alumni Association. In a remarkable gesture of gratitude and commitment, many alumni contributed seed money to support the Foundation and assist its current scholars.

  On June 30, the Manila-based scholars and alumni gathered to celebrate the 40th Anniversary of the Philberth Foundation. A special audio-visual presentation (AVP) was shown, highlighting the Foundation's four decades of service and expressing the scholars' deep gratitude for the opportunities they had received.

  As the Philberth Foundation celebrates this significant milestone, we hope that its scholars and alumni will continue to be inspired by the vision and generosity of the Philberth brothers. May they carry forward the Foundation's mission by giving back, serving others, and helping ensure that future generations of deserving students will also have the opportunity to pursue their dreams.
